I was born and raised in West Hartford,CT, first generation Italian from Calabria, Italy. My family's comes from a small mountain town called San Basile (Saint Basil) and now I live in a mountain resort town and use the essential oil of basil (among many others) in my practice.
I have a degree in Nursing (RN) Vermont College with most of my nursing career spent in Surgical ICU/ Trauma/ Open Heart/ ER and travelled the USA working in Santa Barbara & Palm Springs, CA; New Orleans, LA; Hartford & New Haven, CT; and Denver & Winter Park, CO. I also have a degree in English Literature (an emphasis on poetry), from CU-Boulder, and did stint in Storytelling, starting reading programs for children at my local library and Charter school (which my husband and I started).
In 1993, a friend and I started the very first Coffee Roasting shop in Grand County , the Rocky Mountain Roastery, which is still going strong today!
Currently, I live and play in the Colorado Rockies with my husband, 2 grown daughters and grandaughter. We have raised , raced and trained sled dogs since 2012. I enjoy spending time on my skiis in the wintertime and hiking, rafting and mountain biking in the summers. Our whole family are what we like to term as 'bibliomaniacs' having more books in our home than furniture!!!
Travel and creative home cooking is also a passion of mine.
