REFLEXOLOGY and PAIN RELIEF

Pain occurs in the body from blocked or decreased flow of bio-chemical electrical nerve impulses. Any form of stress in the body  (mental/physical/emotional) can cause irritating chemicals to accumulate in and around the nerve endings.

Reflexology techniques focus on the nerve endings in the feet, hands and face.  These nerve endings connect to every part of the body. When there is tenderness felt by the reflexologist it is believed to be an indication of blockage or congestion that has accumulated around those nerve endings. One of these chemicals is called Substance P - which is a neurotransmitter. The "P" stands for pain. Specific techniques that the Reflexologist implements will assist in breaking down the blockage on the nerve endings, which helps to increase the bio-chemical electric flow to the nerves and reduce the pain.

It also can help restore nerve flow to the specific part of the body as mapped out by the reflexology charts.
As the Massage therapist works the 'knots' in the muscles - the Reflexologist works the 'knots' on the nerve endings
